Donald Trump gets relief from Georgia court as six charges dropped

A court in Georgia has dropped six charges against former United States President Donald Trump and his allies in a case relating alleged election interference in the southeastern state.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee dismissed six of the 41 counts in the Georgia indictment, according to a nine-page court filing released on Wednesday.

“As written, these six counts contain all the essential elements of the crimes but fail to allege sufficient detail regarding the nature of their commission,” McAfee wrote.

“They do not give the Defendants enough information to prepare their defences intelligently, as the Defendants could have violated the Constitutions and thus the statute in dozens, if not hundreds, of distinct ways.”

But Trump still has ten charges on his back. Moreover, Judge McAfee didn't change the most serious charge of racketeering. The possibility remains for prosecutors to come up with a more detailed case for the six charges that got thrown out.

The judge thinks the charges thrown out didn't have enough information. He said, "The details about how they did the bad stuff are missing."

This whole mess is about Trump trying to change the results of the 2020 elections. He wanted to win but Joe Biden came out on top. Trump made a long call to Georgia's Secretary of State, asking for votes to be changed. He wanted just enough to make him win.

The judge tossed out two charges linked to this phone call. But the case is still on for Trump's aides like Rudy Giuliani and Mark Meadows.

This is just one of four cases against Trump and these cases might get in the way as he is in the race for presidency.

Donald Trump and Biden are gearing up for the White House race. But Trump will have to deal with these cases first.
