Man who killed three relatives arrested in Philadelphia

Violence began around 9am when Gordon shot his 52-year-old stepmother and 13-year-old sister in their home

The man, accused of killing his three family members, has been detained in a Philadelphia suburb, police officials said. 

Andre Gordon Jr., a 26-year-old suspect, is in custody after allegedly killing three family members in a Philadelphia suburb. He fled to New Jersey and was initially thought to be holding hostages, but police later apprehended him on the street.The victims were his stepmother, sister and another acquaintance.

Police believe he is dangerous and possibly armed with more weapons. The residents of the home, where he barricaded himself, were safely rescued, said New Jersey police.

The violence began Saturday morning when Gordon shot and killed his 52-year-old stepmother and his 13-year-old sister at a Levittown residence in Falls Township, Pennsylvania. Three other family members, including a child, narrowly escaped harm by hiding.

Moments later, Gordon moved to another Levittown address, armed with an AR-15. He fatally shot his 25-year-old partner, Taylor Daniel, who shared two children with him. Daniel's mother was also injured after being struck by the rifle.

Fleeing the scene, Gordon carjacked a vehicle at gunpoint and escaped to Trenton, New Jersey.

Police initially believed him to be barricaded with hostages in a Trenton residence, but he later evaded capture by slipping out unnoticed. After an extensive search, police eventually located Gordon walking nearby and apprehended him near the Trenton home
